Modular Riser Clamp

The modular riser clamp consists of individual clamp segments that can be combined into a larger assembly. Small relative angles between the segments allow the assembly to follow the curvature of a riser. This makes it suitable for retrofitting onto curved risers, such as those in a lazy-S configuration, during decommissioning.

The assembly can be reconfigured on deck to accommodate different flexible pipe diameters, required holding loads and allowable squeeze loads. This enables the same tool to be used to retrieve different types of flexible pipe during a decommissioning campaign.

Each clamp segment has interchangeable inserts to accommodate different pipe diameters. The clamps can be operated and tightened subsea by an ROV.
